The way that the framers did this was by ensuring that power of the national or the federal government was well shared between the three branches of the federal government.

The three branches are the executive arm, the judiciary and the legislative arm. What the framers did was to create a way that the branches would be able to check mate each other. In this way no one branch or arm would have too much and become a dictator.
