Bones and Joints are known to be used in kicking in football  and as such, the bones and joints  of the lower body is often used.

Note that the tarsals, metatarsals as well as the phalanges of your foot are the ones that gives the contact surface that one can be able to use in the striking of a football. The movement of your head and sight is one that need to follow the the ball wherever it is going.
