An activity to show the different rates of conduction of metals such as copper aluminum zinc iron.
Metals conduct warmth and power thoroughly in evaluation with other solids because of steel bonds. The undoubtedly charged atoms are bonded with a move or sea of unfastened electrons. thus, electrons are without difficulty available for conduction. Silver, copper, and gold are the high-quality conductors of electrical modern-day metals.
A cell, torch bulb fitted in a holder,connecting wires, different metal strips
- Let us make a simple circuit by connecting one end of the torch the to cell and other end end of torch to metal strip and to cell back [as shown in the figure]
- Let us insert a piece of Aluminium foil between the wires .And we will observe
- Repeat the same activity with different metal strips like ,Iron, copper and zinc.
1. In the case of aluminum, iron, copper, and zinc we observe that the bulb glows in the circuit.
