Respuesta :

The tight coiling and looping of the glomerular capillaries is functionally important because it provides increased surface area for filtration .

Glomerulus :

It is a bunch of capillary blood vessels held together by a little connective tissue . it is formed by the afferent renal arteriole. the blood from the glomerulus passes out by the efferent renal arteriole . the glomerulus consists of anastomosing plexus of blood vessels .it is the filtering unit of the kidney .

What is glomerular capillaries ?

The glomerular capillaries are the network of small blood vessels known as tuft , located at the beginning of a nephron in the kidney . each of the two kidneys contain about one million nephrons .

Nephron is the structural and functional unit of the kidney .

The tuft is structurally supported by the mesangium ( the space between the blood vessels) , composed of intraglomerular mesangial cells .

The blood is filtered across the capillary walls of this tuft through the glomerular filtration barrier , which yields its filtrate of water and soluble substances to a cup like sac called bowman's capsule .
