The leader of the society for promotion of Christian Knowledge, Samuel Urlsuperger, had called out the King George 2 of the Britain to help the refugees by giving them shelter,
The King George 2 had provided the refugees shelter at today's town of Ebenezer in Georgia, as they were persecuted from their own homeland because of their religions.
But in the Ebenezer, their situation doesn't improved much, many of the settlers died of dysentery and many children died of diseases in just months after settling in.
Then in 1736, the Salzburg's moved to another city above the Savannah river which later named as New Ebenezer.
They achieved and created new sources of livelihood under the leadership of their leader named, Boltzius, who also introduced slaves to expand their settlements and scope of production.
But after the death of Boltzius, the community had started fading away with time. The church at Jerusalem is one of the oldest and the remaining remnant of Salzburg's now.
