Leadership is the art of getting things done by inspiring and guiding other people to work toward a common objective. A leader is someone who is able to organize his human resources to accomplish specific goals. An exceptional leader is one who can maintain focus and inspire their team day in and day out, no matter the conditions. Neither power nor the fear of force may ever factor into his interactions with others. It is possible that he will not be well-liked, and that his followers will not ever do as he asks out of unconditional devotion. He might never be someone who stands out for any reason; he might never employ striking techniques to bring home the points of his cause or highlight his own leadership. In terms of the crucial task of goal-setting, he may be a guy of little influence and even less skill; as a leader, he may do little more than implement the plans of others.
