Respuesta :

A stone falls from the top of a building and hits the ground at a speed of 32 m/s. The air resistance force on the stone is very small and may be neglected, the time for the fall of the stone would be 1.806 seconds

What are the three equations of motion?

There are three equations of motion given by  Newton

The first equation is given as follows

v = u + at

the second equation is given as follows

S = ut + 1/2×a×t²

the third equation is given as follows

v² - u² = 2×a×s

height of the building (S) = 32 meters

initial velocity(u) = 0 m/s

acceleration(a) = 9.81 m/s²

By  second equation of motion given by newton

S = ut + 1/2at²

S = 32 m ,u= 0 m/s , a= 9.81 m/s² and t =? seconds

32 = 0 + 9.81t²

t² = 32/9.81

t = 1.806 seconds

Thus, The time for the fall of the stone would be 1.806 seconds
