What is Sex determination?

It is biological process by which biological sex of a human is determined. In human its either male or female which is dependent on the combination of chromosomes. Humans have a set 23 pairs of chromosome of which 22 pairs are autosomes and the 23rd pair is the sex chromosome which determines the sex of an individual. If the mother contributes an X chromosome and the father also an X chromosome, the offspring is a girl (XX)and if the mother contributes an X chromosome and father a Y chromosome the resultant offspring is a boy(XY).
