The are usually very large with no definite boundaries.
There are four major region according the of referring to census bureau and each with division. According to geographic position on the continent we have the Northeast, Southwest, West, Southeast, and Midwest region in America.
New England is located in division 1 while Mid-Atlantic is located in division 2 in Region 1.
