Andrew Mellon and Herbert Hoover were similar in to promoted economic growth.
Hoover held the job of Secretary of Commerce for the first two presidential terms, while Mellon served in the same cabinet. The two men grew close and shared admiration for one another. Before then, both had put in a lot of effort to raise money and provide aid for the victims of the First World War.
Mellon, a conservative Republican and businessman, disapproved of the way the government's budget was managed, with the lack of reserves and the inability of income or revenues to keep up with rising spending. Hoover was also irritated by the ineffectiveness of the government. Hence they both promoted economy growth.
