Thunderstorms, a short-lived, severe weather disturbance, are almost always accompanied by lightning, thunder, dense clouds, heavy rain or hail, and strong winds. Thunderstorms occur when layers of warm, moist air rise in high, rapid winds toward cooler regions of the atmosphere.

On weather maps, the surface position of the warm front is shown as a solid red line with red semicircles filled along it. . The semicircles indicate the direction in which the front is moving. They are on the side of the road that the front is moving.

Three basic components are needed to form a thunderstorm: moisture, unstable ascending air (air continues to rise when there is a thrust), and a lifting mechanism to create "boost" . “Sometimes thunderstorms form a line that can stretch for hundreds of miles horizontally.

These "cry lines" can last for hours and produce strong winds and hail. Although thunderstorms can vary in size and shape, we can classify them into main groups: single cell, multicellular cluster, multicellular lineage, and supercell. A thunderstorm is a storm accompanied by sound and lightning and usually heavy rain or hail.

Thunderstorms develop in warm, humid areas. High temperatures in these areas cause warm, moist air (with water vapor) to rise. Thus, strong water currents with water droplets are created.
