There is a difference between rule utilitarianism and act utilitarianism, the act utilitarianism considers only the results or consequences of the one act while the rule utilitarianism considers the implications that result from following a rule of conduct.
Rule utilitarianism may be a variety of utilitarianism that believes an action is correct if it conforms to a rule that's justified on utilitarian grounds which ends up in the best good, or that "the rightness or wrongness of a specific action could be a function of the correctness of the rule of which it's an instance."
Act utilitarianism analyses the utilitarian principle on each and each act that somebody undertakes.
