Joint committees contains four permanent committees that cannot report legislation.
There are different types of Congress Committees, few among them are standing, joint, conference and select committees. The Standing committee comes as an important policy making committee of the Congress, which also matches functions of the executive agency.
The members of the Conference committee are appointed by the Senator of that state as well as by the Speaker of the house. On the other hand Select committee is a temporary one, only designed to investigate certain issues.
