In authoritative parenting, the parents do set a few limits for their children, yet here still, they are supportive, motivate and nurture their kids at each step. They explain certain rules to the kids, discuss them and reason with them, in order to control their child's behavior.
Here, the parents definitely listen to the point of view of their kids, but mostly do not accept it. An instance could be mildly punishing the kid for some wrong behavior yet even explaining them why it was wrong.
