Respuesta :
The air masses that have the greatest influence on weather conditions in the central United States are :- "cP and mT"
"cP and mT"
- The air masses in and around North America include the continental arctic (cA), maritime polar (mP), maritime tropical (mT), continental tropical (cT), and continental polar (cP) air masses.
Influence of air masses on temperature at a place.
- The position of a place in relation to the air mass's source and the air mass's trajectory as it departs from that region determine the impact that air masses have on a place's temperature. For instance, one's climate will be very consistent throughout the year if they are situated in the center of an air mass source region. You would be in the center of the continental polar air mass if you lived in north central Canada (cP). For the most of the year, you can anticipate chilly to frigid temperatures and low humidity levels.
- However, if you live in central Illinois, you will experience a much greater variation in temperature because you are in the boundary zone between several different air masses. Two air masses in particular influence this region, cP and mT. The cP air brings cool, dry weather while mT air is responsible for humid and warm conditions. When these air masses collide, storms are generated.
