x/(8+4) = 6/8

x/12 =6/8

8x = 6 * 12

8x = 72

Divide both sides by8 to have:

8x/8 = 72/8

x = 9

Similarly;

10+y/x = 10/6

10+y/9 = 10/6

10+y/9 = 5/3

Cross multiply

3(10+y) = 5(9)

30 + 3y = 45

3y = 45-30

3y = 15

y = 5
