Orbicularis oris muscle which is also known as musclus orbicularis oris is complex multiplayer muscle which attaches through the thin, musculoaponeurotiic system to the upper lips and lower lips.

The muscles acting on human lips are derived from the second pharyngeal arch mesoderm. Lips muscle are panniculus carnosus which from attachments with the dermis, dimpling pf skin. Zygomaticus major muscles are used in smiling.

The three muscles that leads our upper lips or control lips are levator labii superioris and the zygomaticus minor.Lips are composed of a complex of muscles known as orbicularis oris. This is orbicularis oris which contracting that give us the ability to play the trumpet , whistle or kiss.
