A communication system is a system that describes the exchange of information between two points, a sender and a receiver. Signals or information are sent from a source to an extension through what is called a channel. This is the method the signal uses to travel from source to destination. To transmit a signal in a communication system, it must first be processed in several stages, from signal representation and signal shaping to coding and modulation. After the signal is prepared for transmission, it is passed down the transmission line of the channel and suffers many impairments such as noise, attenuation, and distortion as the signal passes through this medium.
