The invasion of Poland was what started the Second World War (WWII). this invasion took place on September 1, 1939, and there was no formal declaration of war, but the act was considered the beginning of the conflict.

- The Yalta Conference was a set of meetings between the WWII-winning countries that took place between 4 - 11 Feb, 1945. This conference discussed how the territories would be divided between the winning countries and how peace would be maintained on the continent.
