Preterite tense is used to describe completed actions from the past. The difference between present tense and preterite tense is that present is in present time and preterite is past.
Paragraph: Mis últimas vacaciones fueron maravillosas. La pasé con mi familia en Cancún. Fuimos a varias playas y tomamos un recorrido de Chichén Itzá.
