The main difference between Manure and Fertilizer is that Manure is natural that consists of the beast and factory wastes, whereas Fertilizers are chemical substances that are nutrient-rich.

Difference between manures and fertilizers-

  • Manure is animal excreta(waste) used for the good growth and development of plants while fertilizers are the chemical substances used to increase crop yield.
  • Manure is natural (no chemical used), whereas fertilizers can be organic or (man-made)synthetic.
  • Manure supplies fewer nutrients in fields whereas fertilizers are rich sources of nutrients.
  • Manure is heavier on the flip side fertilizer is not bulkier
  • Manure is composed of animal dung, human wastes, and plant residues whereas fertilizers are composed of inorganic salts.
  • Manure is soluble in water but takes time while fertilizers have more solubility in water.
  • Manure unloose Nitrogen content in the air, if left in the environment on the other side, nitrogen loss from fertilizers is less.
  • Manure makes the soil texture better by making it pourable while fertilizers also improve soil texture but the improvement is less in comparison to manure.
