Firstly, I would check to see when the body was found, and how long the body was dead for. I would then look around the room for the murder weapon and send it for fingerprint testing. I would also ask the eyewitness questions such as, "Is there anybody you suspect would kill the victim?" After all that, I would search the room for any scuff marks or tracks that may show more evidence.
