Compare the causes and effects of the development of constitutional monarchy in England with those of the development of absolute monarchy in France, Spain, and Russia. (At least 6 sentences)

Respuesta :

It was the growing power of Parliament, and several incompetent monarchs which led to this. By the 17th century, Parliament had gained one power that the monarchy no longer had - they were in charge of raising taxes. King Charles I got into so many arguments over money, religion and political affairs that his own Parliament declared war on him. In the end, Parliament won and had the king executed. Oliver Cromwell became the dictator of England for 10 years (this period is known as the Commonwealth), and abolished an increasingly corrupt Parliament. After his death, both the Monarchy and Parliament were restored, and king Charles II became King. The Civil War led to a gradual increase in Parliament's power, which may well have stopped the country from having a revolution.

Hope this helps!

This one was exacerbated by the Senate's rising power as well as a string of incompetent rulers. By the 17th century, Parliament has acquired a competence that the king no longer owned, and further discussion can be defined as follows:

  • The power to impose taxes. King James, I was embroiled in so many squabbles over wealth, religion, or politics that even his parliament launched a war on him.
  • Finally, Parliament triumphed and the monarch was executed.
  • Oliver Tudor was Ireland's dictator for 10 years (during the Commonwealth era) and destroyed a progressively corrupt Senate.
  • Shortly after his death, the Monarchy and Parliament both were restored, when King Charles II was crowned.
  • This Civil War resulted in a gradual growth in Legislature's authority, which had prevented this country from witnessing a revolutionary.
