I remember standing at attention, not allowed to move, while the humid heat drew mosquitoes to my skin. They covered my face, my arms, and the bodies of everybody else around me. We were ordered to drop down to the ground and start pumping out pushups. My adrenaline was racing, and the only thing that was going through my mind was the thought that I had made a huge mistake.
