Chronological thinking is important because it is recollection at which events took place. If you were to describe something that happened. Its important to explain the order it happened in. If you're telling a story of a cat jumping out of a tree, you wouldn't start the story with the cat being on the ground. You would start with maybe how it got up there or right before the cat jumped down.
Chronological thinking can be important since it enables you to make sense of particular occurrences by having knowledge of what came before them and what could have affected them. Chronological thinking is especially useful for cause and effect problems in history.
