3x - (-10) = -4 Substitute
3x + 10 = -4 Simplify
3x = -14 Separate numbers and variables
x = -14/3 Divide

2x - y = - 10
2x - (-10) = -10 Substitute
2x + 10 = -10 Simplify
2x = -20 Separate numbers and variables
x = -10 Divide
