Why was Native American literature recorded in songs, rituals, and ceremonies?

So that the stories would be easier to pass down as they are very easy to rhyme. Plus, it would create great stories which the Native Americans dedicated themselves to doing. Hope i helped, plz brainly me, nee help tag me ;)
