Mutation affect a species ability to survive and reproduce. Mutations can expand the life span of a species by keeping them hidden from predators which would also increase reproduction. If exposed to other wildlife, those numbers could decrease.
Mutation is a process where the genomic composition or genotype of a species undergoes some changes due to different environmental factors. The change on the gene can cause an abnormal body function in a species. The abnormality cause the species harder to survive in an environment they use to be and affect their survival and reproduction rate. The mutated species that can't adapt to the environment will be easily removed from the population.
