During World War II, Mexican workers came to the United States as part of the Bracero Program.

The Bracero Program was a series of agreements initiated by the US and Mexico in 1942, during WWII. The program aimed to cover the labor shortage in agricultural activities and laborers from Mexico were promised decent labor and living conditions in order to make the program attractive for them.
