"People" isn't very specific, but the main character/narrator of The Raven deals with his grief through dwelling somewhat on the past. This leads to the climax of the story were the Raven exclaims "Nevermore!" Meaning that the man should stop living in the past and move on. 

In the poem, "The Raven" by Edgar Ellen Poe, we learn of a man who had lost his friend Lenore in death. What we learn about the way people deal with grief from this poem is that people often ask questions about the state of their loved ones that will always go unanswered. Thus, they are restless as they try to make meaning of their loss.

  • In that poem, we learn of a man who had lost his friend named Lenore in death. He is unable to sleep because he receives a visitor in the form of a Raven.

  • As he tries to make some inquiries from the Raven, he is constantly met with the answer, "Nevermore."

  • This shows the bleakness and uncertainty that death leaves people in as they try to come to terms with their loss.
