Harry Truman was the 33rd president of the United States. He was born on May 8, 1884, and died on December 26, 1972. Truman was always an avid supporter of civil rights for all people. His most important accomplishment was abolishing discrimination. This was applied to people of different colors, religions, cultures, and much more.

John F. Kennedy:

John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. He was born on May 29, 1917, and died on November 22, 1963. Kennedy would do many actions to support the movement for civil rights such as broadcasting numerous speeches on why they were important. One of his most notable actions for the movement was allowing people of color to vote.

Maya Angelou:

Maya Angelou was a poet and an important figure in the Civil Rights movement. She was born on April 4, 1928, and died on May 28, 2014. Angelou was most known for her consistent funding of the Civil Rights movement. The most well-known of these was an event called the Cabaret for Freedom which raised money for the Civil Rights movement held by Martin Luther King Jr.
