A rectangle and a triangle have the same area. if their bases are the same lengths,how do their heights compare? justify your answer.

 The triangles height would be half because the formula is 1/2 h*b and a rectangle is l*w (i think is the same as b*h but don't take my word for it)

Answer:

The height of the triangle will be twice the height of the rectangle. The area of a triangle is ½ bh and the area of a rectangle is bh. If the bases are the same, then the height of the triangle has to be double that of the rectangle in order to get the same area.
