To find the distance between any points:

 ⇒ we must know the distance formula

     ⇒ Distance Formula: [tex]\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^2+(y_{2}-y_{1})^2 } }[/tex]

  • [tex](x_{1} ,y_{1} )[/tex] --> (-1,8)
  • [tex](x_{2} ,y_{2} )[/tex] --> (4,8)

Let's Solve:

    Distance Formula = [tex]\sqrt{(4--1)^2+(8-8)^2} =\sqrt{5^2} =\sqrt{25}[/tex] = 5

Thus the distance between the points is 5

Hope that helps!
