Our U.S. freedom of speech is protected by the first Amendment that states our freedom of press, speech, religion, assembly, and right to petition the government. This Amendment was already limited during WWI, because of the Sedition Act. It made it illegal to speak, write, or print anything negative about the Gov. or the War.
