Subract 3X

Y = -3X+2

4X+Y=20

Subract 4X

Y = 20-4X


Set the equations to each other and then solve


20-4X= -3X+2

Add 4X

20=X+2

Subract 2


X = 18

And now plug in 18 to one of the equations

3(18)+Y = 2

54 + Y = 2

Subract 54 on both sides

and the answer is -52
