Why can we hear sounds outside of a door when music is playing on the inside?

Sound can travel through objects so when I knock on the wall the sound goes through my hand into the wall and then out the wall into your ear mainly because sound is actually vibrations that your eardrum feels and then registers as hear the respected sound
