Who is Goffman?
Erving Goffman was a Canadian social psychologist, sociologist, and writer who was born on the 11th of June, 1922 in Mannville, Canada. He was elected to serve as 73rd president of the American Sociological Association.
In his famous article titled "The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life," Goffman gave an analysis, meaning and detailed description of communication and interaction among various people.
According to Goffman, impression is an idea through which human actions, behavior, and appearance are used to convince an audience of human competence and authority.
