Primary/Secondary Sources -

A primary source is a document, image, or other source that comes from the time period of the information your researching. For example, a newspaper article about world war ii that was published in 1942. These are considered more credible by some people because the details are current and relevant to their situations.

A secondary source is an article, document, or other source that gives you information about a topic that was released after the event. For example, a history.com article on world war ii that was published in 2017. The information for these sources typically come from retellings or such that may have changed just a bit as time went on.
