We declare that doing so will not reap any reward. We hope so that said seller will risk losing them, and the slaves that he kept will be given to the buyer for free.

This probably impacted slave's unity by making slaves families together and therefore more strong. More enslaved people had a family, and could be sure that they could raise their children during the tender prepubescent while they needed to be taken care of the most.
