13. Why does the Moon not crash into the Earth?
A because its orbit is elliptical
B. because it is caught between its attraction to the Sun and
the Earth
C. because it has its own momentum which keeps it in orbit
around the Earth
this is because of gravity the path of the moon as it travels round the earth is very nearly a circle not elliptical though there are times in its orbit when it is closer to us and so appears slightly larger in the sky.
