Across the board, the players in the polity of America especially commentators see equality as an American Value. The constitution itself begins with the phrase "We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union".
With the results produced over the years such as having a black president, we can aptly say that access to the same procedures and opportunities; the right to vote and to be voted for, to run for a political office has been, to a great extent, equalized in America.
