Given addition:
(I). → {4(2/3)} + {1(1/6)}
= {(12+2)/3}+{(6+1)/6}
= (14/3)+(7/6)
Take the LCM of 3 & 6 is 6.
= {(14×2 + 7×1)/6}
= {(28+7)/6}
= 35/6
= {5(5/6)}.
(ii).→ {5(3/5)} + (3/10)
= {(25+3)/5} + (3/10)
= (28/5) + (3/10)
Take the LCM of 5 & 10 is 10.
= {(28×2 + 3×1)/10}
= {(56 + 3)/10}
= (59/10)
= {5(9/10)}.
(iii).→ {3(5/8)} + {1(5/12)}
= {(24+5)/8} + {(12+5)/12}
= (29/8) + (17/12)
Take the LCM of 8 & 12 is 24.
= {(29×3 + 17×2)/24}
= {(87 + 34)/24}
= 121/24
= {10(1/12)}.
