To find your “mean” or “average” you have to: find the SUM of all your numbers & DIVIDE it by the total numbers you have in your particular data plot.

TOTAL number of numbers you have in your question: 5
YOUR EQUATION:
(5 + 6 + 5 + 6 + 9) / 5
(5 + 6 + 5 + 6 + 9) / 5
= 11 + 5 + 6 + 9 / 5
= 16 + 6 + 9 / 5
= 22 + 9 / 5
= 31 / 5 ≈ 6.2
