Anne Hutchinson was killed in August 1643, having been born in July 1591.
She was an influential participant in the Antinomian Controversy, which shook the fledgling Massachusetts Bay Colony from 1636 to 1638, as well as a Puritan spiritual counsellor and religious reformer.
Her popularity and charisma helped foment a theological schism that challenged the Puritan religious community in New England. Her strong religious beliefs were at conflict with the established Puritan clergy in the Boston area.
