First, if athletes do decide to speak out on political or social issues, it will affect their image since they are taking a side. For example, if one of them was to speak about abortion and if they were to support it, it would cause a rage in the media on both sides, causing the star to lose many fans and much more money they would’ve made from games (the losing fans.) The athlete would be blacklisted, and most likely go from A-list to D-list.
