find the slope of the line, given the points (2,1) and (6,3) show all your work. Do not convert into decimal if you have a decimal answer.

Respuesta :

☆Answer :

  • (X1, Y1) = (2, 1)
  • (X2, Y2) = (6, 3)

m = (Y2 - Y1)/(X2 - X1)

m = (3 - 1)/(6 - 2)

m = 2/4 <==> ½

Given points,

(2,1) = (x₁, y₁)

(6,3) = (x₂, y₂)

To find the slope, we need to use the formula =》(y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

So,

(y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

= (3 - 1)/(6 - 2) [substitute the values]

= 2/4

= 1/2

◇ Slope of the line = 1/2.
