Recall that the cell walls of plants contain a carbohydrate called cellulose. In order to digest cellulose
animals need to host a bacteria that has the special enzyme to break this molecule down for energy. Even
with the help of the bacteria cellulose is still difficult to digest. The bacteria resides in the cecum of animals. Note that not all animals have a cecum.
Use this information to explain the differences in the lengths of the loins and zebras digestive tracts.
