I don't understand how I would simplify to get my answer.

so x-7=3x-33 first thing to do is combined like terns so 3x-x =2x so now you have -7=2x-33 add -33 to -7 and sence  33 is -33 it becomes a positive 33 so you add 33 to -7 and now you get 23=2x now you divide 2 on each side and now you get 11.5=x
