From what i see about the picture it looks like a calm Cafe, where people are relaxing. The texture of the work is also very good, I like how the room looks balanced from putting people and tables on each side.

Answer:

The Night Cafe at Place Lamartine or The Evening Coffee is an oil on canvas painted by Vincent van Gogh in Arles, September 1888. The title "Le café de nuit" can be seen in the lower right corner of the canvas below the signature of the painter.

The work depicts the interior of the Café de la Gare, located on Place Lamartine, owned by Joseph-Michel Ginoux and his wife Marie Ginoux, who in November 1888 would pose for the paintings by Van Gogh and Gauguin's The Arlesian. Joseph Ginoux would also be portrayed by the painters a little later.

Van Gogh tells his brother about the beginning of this painting in his 518th letter to Theo on August 6, 1888: “Today I will probably start inside a cafe where I have a room at night under gas lighting. It's called “cafe de nuit” (very common here), and it is open all night. Night owls can take refuge when they cannot afford to pay for the night or are too drunk to be accepted.
