He stood firm in his American belief that the US would stay out of any possible alliances with foreign nations to prevent conflict. President Wilson advocated for peace throughout the country and the world, and was fully opposed to the war. He sent an aide to work on a peace deal and also traded with other countries while still remaining neutral. His main goal was to help keep the US out of the war and help the other nations come to a peace agreement.
